Lumia 5.2 necessary items

Hello all, this is meant to be a quick n dirty 'kit' of sorts for the Lumia 5.2. Implementing kits on the website is a bit of a technical issue, so this is the best I can do instead :)

For single Lumia 5.2 setups (for tanks up to ~16"x16"):

Those are the essentials. If you don't already have any of the following (a lot do), then you'll also need:

  • Thermal paste
  • Wire
  • 3-pin power cord (you can use pretty much any cord you already have, brown is load, blue is neutral, and green is ground)
  • If you want manual (potentiometer/dimmer knobs) control, or 0-10v control for your Apex, Reefkeeper, or Bluefish controller, then you will need the MakersDRIVER Optional Manual Dimming accessory.

For dual Lumia setups (for tanks up to ~24"x24"):

Those are the essentials. If you don't already have any of the following (a lot do), then you'll also need:

  • Thermal paste
  • Wire
  • 3-pin power cord (you can use pretty much any cord you already have, brown is load, blue is neutral, and green is ground)
  • If you want manual (potentiometer/dimmer knobs) control, or 0-10v control for your Apex, Reefkeeper, or Bluefish controller, then you will need the MakersDRIVER Optional Manual Dimming accessory.

For triple Lumia 5.2 setups (for tanks up to ~36"x24"):

Those are the essentials. If you don't already have any of the following (a lot do), then you'll also need:

  • Thermal paste
  • Wire
  • 3-pin power cord (you can use pretty much any cord you already have, brown is load, blue is neutral, and green is ground)
  • If you want manual (potentiometer/dimmer knobs) control, or 0-10v control for your Apex, Reefkeeper, or Bluefish controller, then you will need the MakersDRIVER Optional Manual Dimming accessory per MakersDRIVER.

For quad Lumia 5.2 setups (for tanks up to ~48"x24"):

Those are the essentials. If you don't already have any of the following (a lot do), then you'll also need:

  • Thermal paste
  • Wire
  • 3-pin power cord (you can use pretty much any cord you already have, brown is load, blue is neutral, and green is ground)
  • If you want manual (potentiometer/dimmer knobs) control, or 0-10v control for your Apex, Reefkeeper, or Bluefish controller, then you will need the MakersDRIVER Optional Manual Dimming accessory per MakersDRIVER.

For setups using more Lumia, basically follow the guidelines above, and make sure you leave some headroom on the power supply! (the 180w can power up to 2x Lumia, the 250w up to 3x, and the 500w up to 6x)

You can also substitute the MakersDRIVER 5up and MakersCONTROLLER for the Coralux 5up board and the Storm or Storm X controller if you want more control over your Lumias.

As always, if you have any questions, feel free to talk to us and we'll get everything in order :)

    Hi Ben,

Thanks for the information. What is the closest distance you could run the Lumia 5.2s together? I would like to use a 6' Makersled designer heatsink in the middle of my 7.5' tank (90X22X30). What is the max amount of Lumia 5.2s that I could run on the 6' fixture with keeping heat in mind? 6...7... more? Rick Coleman on your Facebook page has a pretty nice looking system and I think he ran them ~10" apart. Thanks for your help!
